Catalyst for the rise of African cinema and founded in 2024 by David Mboussou, MAVIKANA Productions is committed to producing authentic and innovative films that reflect the contemporary realities of Central Africa, while aiming for international reach. Our ambition is to develop a cinematic ecosystem that highlights stories deeply rooted in the subregional cultural and natural heritage, while addressing global challenges.

Currently in production with the feature film Afrotōpia, shot in Gabon: this film explores key themes such as colonial memory, environmental preservation, and the quest for identity, offering a fresh perspective on the Congo Basin. Through Afrotōpia, we aim to redefine African cinema by asserting an authentic and compelling vision capable of resonating with a global audience. This project contributes to the ongoing movement of redefining African narratives and soft power.
